The Manor Landscapes Team are proud to announce that our client’s garden in Reigate has been awarded a Silver Merit Medal by the judges for the Association Of Professional Landscapers (APL) Awards.
The APL awards are an annual event where landscapers, garden designers and professional gardeners from all corners of the UK get together to celebrate the creation of some of the country’s most beautiful gardens.
Applications for the APL awards start in spring with landscape professionals putting forward their best work for consideration. The list of applications is narrowed down to a shortlist of nominations and each of those nominations is considered for an award.
Following an intense few months of garden inspections, meetings and deliberations, the judges announce their decisions at a glittering ceremony held in London’s Barbican.
We were delighted to learn in late 2023 that the garden we created with garden designer Laura Bedell-Pearce had been shortlisted for an award. So imagine our delight when, at the award ceremony, our team was handed a silver merit medal for their attention to detail, skill, and craftsmanship.
Naturally we’d like to thank Laura Bedell-Pearce for inviting us to build the garden she designed. But also we’d like to thank our clients for supporting us through the judging process.
The award winning garden bathed in evening sunlight
APL award entries are all real gardens belonging to real people. These are not temporary show gardens, these are someone’s private property. Whilst we do everything possible to protect our client’s identity, the entry process could not go ahead without their full permission. Our clients kindly allowed photographers into their garden and then, at a later date, welcomed the APL judges to closely scrutinise their plot. We’d like to thank them most sincerely for their support and hope that they enjoy their award winning garden for many years to come.
A Close Competition
The APL Awards showcase the work of the UK’s most skilled garden designers, landscapers and professional gardeners and it felt like an honour to be nominated for an award, let alone to receive one.
The competition was very close indeed and featured some amazing outdoor spaces. The supreme winner featured an impressive wildlife friendly garden with a large pool and a poolhouse with a living green roof.
However, no matter how ever patient and modest our Director Geoff Gardener may be, there’s no denying that he’s a stickler for detail. Every single member of our team is supported with ongoing training opportunities so that they can each work to the very highest standards. This, and the other gardens we have built, is testimony to the skill and dedication of the Manor Landscapes team.
